Non-Executive Directors

Sir John Bond was born in the UK in 1941 and following his education in the UK, held an English-Speaking Union Scholarship in the USA from 1959 to 1960.  Previously he was Group Chairman of HSBC Holdings plc until May 2006, when he stepped down after a 45 year career with HSBC spanning spells in Asia, UK and USA.  He became Group Chief Executive of HSBC Holdings on 1st January 1993, when HSBC merged with Midland Bank plc, and became Group Chairman in May 1998.

Sir John became Chairman of Vodafone Group Plc from 2006-2011 and Chairman of Xstrata from 2011-2013.  He is Chairman of KKR Asia and is also a non-executive director of Shui On Land.  He is a member of the International Advisory Council of the China Banking Regulatory Commission, attends the annual China Development Forum in Beijing as well as the Mayor of Shanghai’s International Business Leaders’ Advisory Council and is also a Member of the International Advisory Board of Tsinghua University School of Economics & Management in Beijing.

He has been a Governor of the English-Speaking Union and a Director of British Steel, Orange Plc, Ford Motor Company, USA, the London Stock Exchange, Northern Trust and AP Moller-Maersk and on the Court of the Bank of England.  He is a former Member of Mitsubishi Corporation International Advisory Council and the Board of Qatar Endowment Foundation.  Sir John’s Knighthood was conferred for services to banking in the Queen’s Birthday Honours in 1999.  In 2003, he was awarded both the Magnolia Gold Award by the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government and the Foreign Policy Association New York’s Gold Medal.

Frederic Durr became a non-exec director of TTB in 2018. He has 20 years’ experience in the financial services industry, and is currently advising a family office based in Europe.

He started his career at Rothschild and then Merrill Lynch in London. Frederic then co-founded Maoming Investment Manager Ltd, an asset management company with a China focus and has lived in Asia since 2004.

Frederic graduated from HEC in Lausanne and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
